This blog strictly explains with advice on how
to get a job in Nigeria. So I would advice every student, graduate and
job applicant to read this blog and apply the advice, take the
necessary corrections before or while applying for a job in Nigeria or
any part of the world.
As we know
the employment situation in Nigeria is prettily hard especially on our
graduate who Rome about in the name of “Job search”. To get a job in
Nigeria is not an easy stuff not to talk more of good paying jobs. For
years now I had research the actual reasons why the unemployment issues
in Nigeria keep increasing every year and I drawn a conclusion with a
ratio of (60% - 40%), the 60% Means the unemployment issues in Nigeria
today is caused by individuals or applicant while the 40% is from the
government. Keep reading I will explain the results of my conclusion
and how to overcome such situation and become a successful citizen in
the same country people complain of poverty.
To get a job or rather a good job in Nigeria you have to limit yourself to the following tip below.
Your Education And School: your
education and the type of school you attend or you graduate from, plays
a great role in job employment. In Nigeria today to get a good job you
must have the right and required education to compete in the labor
market. You can cannot be a graduate or degree holder in agriculture and
expect to gain employment in an engineering company or a political
science graduate expect himself to work in an oil and gas company. It
may be true for some people but very rare. contrarily a Graduate in
marketing can work in any organization because they are needed in any
sector or company to advertise or market the company’s products likewise
for Administrative and engineering students because every sectors runs
an administration whether small or big and also engineering worker are
also needed in any company producing or non producing company for
technical issues.
So what am I
saying in essence, the choice of program you chose in higher institution
is very important. I am not trying to discourage you from you choice of
program but to let you know that before you chooses any study program ,
you must base your fact on two things…….
Is it what I really like to study or my future dream career program
Is it the hungriest market that my country needed most?
If
you are able to ascertain these rules then you are on your way to
success. Most individuals and graduates are not able to get job in
Nigeria because they do not have what the company need or they failed to
follow their stars or gift in them.
Most people are unsuccessful with their life career Because of “Admission crises in Nigeria”
if I may say; most students chose to study any program because they are
in a hurry to get into university or to avoid running into Nigeria
admission pit holes. But that is not so, while you think forward you
must also think back to have a complete and organize direction of where
you are going to. So think less of what you are facing now and think
more of what the future holds then you remain in the right track.
The
choice of school is another issue but not necessary, there are uprising
private schools most which are not accredited and this can impact badly
on graduated students. Most company offers employment to the recognized
institution. So study in a recognize schools to create a good chances.
Required Skill and Experience:
This is the most important information you must provide for successful
job employment. Almost every company or organization that advertise jobs
vacancy needs your previous work experience because this time no
company in Nigeria want to waste time and resources training people. so
they recruit individuals with experiences. In fact most recruiters
consider your work experience before your education. In the year 2011 I
applied for a job in Obajana Cement company in Nigeria as Electrical
Engineer , in the process of screening the applicant CV, when they came
across mine they almost trash it but my friend who was working in the
same office quickly noticed my CV and quickly notified the HR that my CV
possesses the qualities and right education they need but the HR
reacted and said his work experience is a sales Manager which we don’t
need, unknowing to him that there are other relevant experiences
described in the next slip of my CV.
So
I recommend every applicant or student applying for a job should have
a valuable work experience to keep them at edge over other applicants.
There for while you are still in higher institution get doing something
relevant to your program or career it will help you in later time.
Forget about the years of experience requirement, just make sure you
have some related work experience to boost your chances of been
employed.
